The Research and Development virtual library

We know that research is at its best when we work in partnership with our patients and our local communities.

Why do we have a virtual library?

Our team are passionate about working with our communities including patients, local schools, community groups and non-research staff at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.

The COVID-19 pandemic and the need for social distancing have meant that we have had to work differently with our communities. In 2020, our Summer School was delivered entirely online for the first time and we have continued to work with local schools and other community groups to find new ways of working. This has all allowed us to build up a large amount of resources, tools and films which provide our communities with an insight into scientific and clinical research.

This virtual library is a place for us to continue to grow resources. What else would you like to see here? We invite feedback and to share your ideas for new content.

“Public Engagement means “the myriad of ways in which the activity and benefits of higher education and research can be shared with the public. Engagement is by definition a two-way process, involving interaction and listening, with the goal of generating mutual benefit.”
