SOPs

By following standardised operating procedures (SOPs) we can guarantee accurate results and robust data. SOPs provide an ideal opportunity to resolve diagnostic ambiguity, improve patient outcomes and optimise resources.

These pages set out the core assessments needed to identify the presence of coronary microvascular dysfunction, as well as optional extra measurements that can better characterise patients. Invasive testing using either Coroventis or Combowire with optional Acetylcholine measurement and non-invasive CMR testing with Philips and Siemens scanners are covered.

The NIHR/BHF CMD workstream now have an open access publication in the BMJ's Heart Journal which outlines a Standard Operating Procedure for invasive physiological assessment of Coronary Microvascular Dysfunction. This can be accessed at:
