September 2022 – successful applicants are expected to take up their studentships
We are seeking to recruit up to eight outstanding science graduates to a 4-year (1+3 MRes-PhD) programme in Translational Research to work on internationally-competitive research projects. The PhD training will equip them to exploit excellence in translational research for improving the health of local and national patient populations; this call is for applications for PhD studentships for September 2022 entry.
The MRes consists of three rotations through a choice of project areas as well as workshops providing training and development in research skills. All students will be required to undertake training in computational skills offered either through the BRC and/or the Health Sciences Doctoral Training Centre to promote computational literacy in the health research work force.
The studentships offer a stipend in line with London UKRI Stipend rate for the 2022/23 academic year; costs for MRes and PhD tuition fees are covered by the BRC as well as funds for research project support.
Candidates must possess, or be expected to achieve a 1st or upper 2nd class degree in a relevant subject including the biosciences, chemistry, physics, computer science or mathematics, and be enthusiastic about combining their expertise with other disciplines in the field of healthcare. The full fellowship is open to EU/Home and overseas students.
