About the Fellowships
Clinical Fellows are expected to 1) complete core training modules in Translational and Experimental Medicine, 2) actively pursue their research project and 3) prepare a research fellowship application for submission to an external funding body, such as a Research Council, Charity or NIHR to support further training towards a PhD during the tenure of the Fellowship.
The scheme is for clinical trainees from across the UK who have had, until now, a significant clinical and training commitment that has not allowed them the protected time to develop their research careers.
Candidates should have:
- Relevant professional qualification or degree with distinction/honours
- Registration with relevant professional body
- Eligibility and experience at a level appropriate for registering for a higher degree (eg MRes and PhD)
In addition candidates should demonstrate a track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals, in addition to educational achievement and a commitment to an academic career. This fellowship is open to EU and Home students only.
2020 Applications and projects will be available in December 2019
