Our BRC aims to find new ways of preventing, diagnosing and treating a range of serious diseases and conditions.
A crucial part of this is the involvement of patients in our clinical studies.
Trials have the potential to improve an individual’s own condition but can also help to bring about better healthcare for others.
Without patients playing their important role in our research, the breakthroughs needed to achieve our goals would not be possible.
Patients can also influence policies and procedures of healthcare in the UK and beyond.
They can also help to identify ways of making trials more appealing to patients and therefore improve recruitment of volunteers.
Our patient volunteers play an active role in research groups, which continue to grow in number and evolve.
