Overview

The BRC flow core offers a three day mass cytometry training course that is open to internal users only. The course is aimed at new mass cytometry users, ideally candidates are planning to start their own project soon after the course. Participants will gain an understanding of the design and experimental workflow, the concepts of functional phenotyping, imaging mass Cytometry and tips for analysis of clinical samples. A hands session with execution of a mass cytometry experiment will be followed by an introduction into high dimensional data analysis. User will learn the concepts of data QC and clean-up and get a basic understanding of high dimensional analysis using Spade and VisNe.

Frequency and duration

The course is offered three times a year. One training session runs for 3 days (10:00 – 17:00) with lunch break (please bring your own lunch, coffee /tea will be provided)

Cost and eligibility

The training is open to internal customers (KCL/GSTT) only on a fee for service basis.

Class size

We train in groups of eight delegates with two instructors present.

The 2018 course dates for the mass cytometry course (internal) are as follows:

  • Monday, April 9 – Wednesday, April 11, 2018
  • Monday, June 18 to Wednesday, June 20, 2018
  • Monday, December 3 to Wednesday, December 5, 2018

Important for new users

Please complete the following steps to sign up for the core before you come to training.

  1. register with iLabs(steps 1 and 2)
  2. Request training via ilabs: Go to “request services”, choose “ 5.8 “Mass Cytometry Short Course” and submit to core. We will sign you onto the next available course.
