The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Biomedical Research Centre’s (BRC) Flow Cytometry Platform at Guy’s and St Thomas’ and King’s College London, together with Vanderbilt’s University Jonathan Irish’s lab, are offering a comprehensive five day mass cytometry course.
The organisers also received support from Shahram Kordasti, King’s College London, Fluidigm Inc, Cytobank Inc and Miltenyi Biotech.
The course will be held at the NIHR BRC at Guy’s Hospital, London.
The course is open to internal and external participants. Participants have the option of registering for module 1 or 2 only or the complete course. More detail on all days can be found in the course programme.
Who is this course for?
The course is open to internal and external, new and existing mass and fluorescent cytometry users, statisticians and bioinformaticians with an interest in data analysis methods for high-dimensional mass cytometry experiments.
Module 1: Days one to three only
19-21 March 2018 (Total participants: max 12)
Primary audience: New and existing mass cytometry users
Expected learning outcome: Participants will have a full understanding of the design and experimental workflow and hands on execution of a mass cytometry experiment, understand the concept of data QC and clean-up and get a basic understanding of high dimensional analysis. The concepts of functional phenotyping, imaging mass Cytometry and tips for analysis of clinical samples will be learnt.
Module 2: Days 4 and 5 only
22-23 March 2018 (Total participants max 24)
Primary audience: Mass and fluorescent cytometry users, Statisticians and Bioinformaticians with an interest in data analysis methods for high-dimensional mass cytometry experiments.
Expected learning outcome: Participants will have a full understanding of high dimensional data analysis concepts, learn about the current tool box stretching from Spade to MEM and R based tools and have gained hands on experience in using these.
Throughout the course we will highlight relevance and concepts for clinical applications.
Module 3: Days 1 to 5 (full course)

Course fees include all materials, coffee breaks and lunch, but do not include accommodation and travel costs. Course participants must make their own travel and accommodation arrangements.
