We carry out a wide range of research projects in our university hospitals including lab investigations, clinical trials and large scale studies involving hundreds of people.

Our research has helped to improve survival rates for patients with major health problems and given us important insights into how the body works.

But further research is needed to gain new knowledge about illnesses, treatments and tests so that we can provide better patient care.

We don’t just need people to take part in clinical trials – we need members of the public to give us their views on what we should be researching and how we should be doing it.
