The Flow Cytometry Core of the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and King’s College London is offering a comprehensive five day mass cytometry course together with the Irish lab, Vanderbilt University and with support from Fluidigm Inc, Cytobank Inc and Miltenyi Biotech. The course will be offered in three modules as stated below and is open to internal and external participants.

Participants have the option to register for module 1 or 2 only or the complete course as module 3. More detail on all days can be found in the Course Programme.

Ticket options

Module 1: Days 1 to 3 only, 18-20 March

Target audience: New and existing mass cytometry users.

Expected learning outcome: Participants will have a full understanding of the design and experimental workflow and hands on execution of a mass cytometry experiment, understand the concept of data QC and clean-up and get a basic understanding of high dimensional analysis. The concepts of functional phenotyping, imaging mass Cytometry and tips for analysis of clinical samples will be learnt.

Module 2: Days 4 and 5 only, 21-22 March

Target audience: Mass and fluorescent cytometry users, Statisticians and Bioinformaticians with an interest in data analysis methods for high-dimensional mass cytometry experiments.

Expected learning outcome: Participants will have a full understanding of high dimensional data analysis concepts, learn about the current tool box stretching from Spade to FlowSOM and R based tools and have gained hands on experience in using these.

Throughout the course we will highlight relevance and concepts for clinical applications.

Module 3: Days 1 to 5 (full course), 18-22 March

Course fees and payment

Module 1 only (Days 1-3):

  • £500  for external academic users
  • £750  for external commercial users

Module 2 only (Days 4 and 5):

  • £250 for internal academic users
  • £400 for external academic users
  • £600 for external commercial users

Module 3 full course (days 1 to 5):

  • £600 for internal academic users
  • £800 for external academic users
  • £1,300 for external commercial users

Course fees contain all materials, handouts, coffee breaks and lunch, but no accommodation and travel costs (please book your own).

Payment is accepted via grant codes for internal users (King’s College London and Guy’s and St Thomas’ only) or bank transfer/PO number for external customers (no credit card payment option available, sorry).
