Core facilities

We have invested funds secured from the NIHR into state-of-the-art equipment and facilities to enable researchers to conduct high quality translational research projects. These technologies should accelerate our ability to deliver new diagnostic procedures and medical treatments to patients.

These core facilities are available to members of our Faculty of Translational Medicine. Subject to availability and approval, they are also available to people who register to use these facilities. 

The facilities include:

• comfortable patient-friendly clinical research facilities at both Guy's and St Thomas' hospitals
• a state-of-the-art genomics facility, situated on the 7th floor of Guy’s Tower
• a flow cytometry facility, offering professional support and leading-edge instrumentation for high throughput flow cytometric analysis and cell sorting
• a good manufacturing practice facility for the production of novel cellular therapies
• a bioinformatics facility providing expert support and data analysis solutions 
• meeting facilities in our NIHR Biomedical Research Centre on the 16th floor of Guy's Tower
