Guy's and St Thomas' and King's College London, and the other organisations involved in King’s Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre have long history of collaboration in the conduct of clinical trials.
NHS and academic clinicians have recruited NHS patients and volunteers into a variety of local and international trials on behalf of pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies and have conducted or contributed to investigator-led and academic trials.
Together, the member institutions present a strong interface between academic and NHS researchers, world class clinical and research facilities and a large patient base across the one mental health and two acute NHS foundation trusts.
The King's Health Partners Clinical Trials Office has developed resources, policies and processes to streamline the administration, quality and compliance for commercial clinical trials.
The office includes clinical trials facilitators, clinical trials agreement associates, a Feasibility Specialist and the quality team, comprising the Quality Manager, clinical research associates and training executives.
Together they are significantly improving the:
-
speed and quality of trial feasibility
-
speed and quality of negotiation and sign off of agreements and budgets
-
transparent pricing of trials and distribution of income
-
efficiency of tracking and invoicing of trials
-
training of investigators and their teams in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and regulations
-
delivery of quality processes for commercial and non-commercial clinical trials
-
delivery of sponsor responsibilities for non-commercial trials
The King's Health Partners Clinical Trials Office ensures the complexities of institutional, regulatory and governance requirements are as simple as possible, giving you the confidence that investigators working with you are focused on the science and medicine of clinical research and on identifying and managing patients in trials.
