Research is focussed on translation of basic science developments in imaging, physics, computing, mathematics, chemistry and biology into novel tools for better diagnosis and treatment of patients with cardiovascular, neurological, cancer and musculoskeletal disease.
There has been major growth in Imaging Sciences with the recruitment of 13 new academics in the last 2 years as well as major new research facilities funded by King's College London and Guy's and St Thomas' Charity and the Wellcome Trust. These include two dedicated clinical research MR systems, 2 PET-CT systems with cyclotron as well as microPET CT and high-field NMR scanners for translational research.
